You have one month to complete the painting. Each month after that takes 10% off your total mark. NO exceptions! If you are serious about getting your Advanced Certificate, one month is plenty of time to complete a painting!
I do not sell supplies. Canvas and all materials are available at. Crafty Folk's in Taylor
When the painting is completed, you will E-mail me a copy of the painting. Please do not bring it out.
The painting is to be as close to the original as possible. Colour variation is acceptable. The main thing is proper placement,, details and shadowing.
After the painting is critiqued, the information will be sent back to you. If it needs more work, you will have another two weeks to make the changes. Each week after that is another 10% off your mark. IMPORTANT:All paintings to be finished and turned in no later than June 15, 2010. This will allow the additional 2 weeks needed for any changes if need be. Total passing mark of 55% required. Remember if you don't succeed the first time, try again!
Then you get your Advanced Landscape Artist Certificate and should be able to paint almost anything!
AND
Advanced Artists can bring their own supplies and come out to the Studio and just paint for fun, with myself and with other Advanced artists, or by themselves. They may use any of my over 800 DVD's or instructional books in the Studio. They can do this any time arranged, even if other classes are booked, as long as there is space, they can sit in the corner and paint whatever they want. If using a DVD, they must supply a player with headphones.
ONLY the Advanced Artists can do this. This makes it fun for everyone, to get together just to paint and have a coffee (or hot chocolate) while each of us work on a different project.
As an Advanced painter, if you attend a regular class given by myself or Jerson you get a 25% discount.

To those who have made it this far, good Job! Its wonderful to see so many of you achieving your dream of becoming an Artist. As you know, I have been encouraging you to get your own supplies, and be able to paint at home.
To obtain your "Advanced Landscape Artist Certificate", from Donna's Art Studio, you must paint your painting at home, with your own supplies, without instructional help. Painting is to be on a 16X20 canvas. (canvas board not acceptable) If the instructions are in acrylic, you will have to transpose them into oil by yourself and show me a written copy, preferably before you start to paint. When you paint, take pictures that you may put into a "step by step" information sheet. This will be 25% of your mark. You may need to make your own pattern to get your placements correct.
You have a choice of any one of these paintings

Oil instructions on DVD available for in Studio painting
When you receive your Advanced Artists Certificate, you will enjoy being able to do almost any kind of oil painting, both "wet on wet" and "traditional". Its wonderful to be able to have a group get together, with no one being the "instructor", because all know the basics. Each of us can then expand in his or her different ways, constantly learning.
This has been my goal from the beginning, when I first opened my Studio
If you chose to use the DVD or VHS (when available), you will have to do the painting at my studio or purchase your own DVD if available. All the above DVD's have copyright protection. I will not loan any of my DVD's to ANYONE, (so don't even ask) as I only have one copy of each. Seeing they have copyright protection, I will not copy any to give for you to do your painting at home. Below are some of the DVD'S available for Advanced students to purchase if they want to have a DVD of their own to paint along with to obtain their Advanced Certificate from my Studio.
